Laser Surgery

LANAP stands for Laser-Aassisted New Attachment Procedure. It is a new method of treating moderate to advanced periodontal disease. The laser is used to remove diseased tissue and allow access to better remove the plaque, bacteria and tartar from the root surface. A second pass with the laser stimulates repair and seals off the pocket to allow for healing.

Also, the laser can stimulate new bone formation without having to use bone grafting material. There is no cutting with a scalpel and no stiches. The laser surgery allows us to treat deep pockets and infection less invasively with minimal discomfort afterwards. It also allows us to consolidate your treatment into fewer visits
